How bad is Drury ?

I have absolutely problem with him.
Praising Swansea fans for bringing 200 ???

We took nearly 2000 to Swansea

200 is embarrassing

The bloke just loves to talk about anything but the game….even what he sees is mostly wrong
Queer fcuker indeed

He's ok I guess, but for those of us who are wistful about the days of Ali and Bernie doing the BBC Tees commentary, it's like chalk & cheese in terms of quality reporting/punditry and energy

These are a monotonous duo in comparison, and listening can make you fall asleep almost at times

I have nothing against Maddo at all. At first, I couldn't get used to him but over time, he's OK. Not the world's best vocabulary, haha it cracked me up today when he said 'I don't read books' ... , No?! Maddo?? REALLY?? Who'd have thought it!! haha Maddo the big Philistine rocking the airwaves

Nah, joking aside - I have gotten used to him over the seasons, and he is a sound fella everyone in and around the club loves, who enjoys it.

But I would have thought the Boro/BBC could find much better. Drury does talk some bollox at times but he's harmless. But it if there ever were to be a change I wouldn't be against it ..

What other candidates would be out there people would prefer to hear instead as a duo, doing our matchday on t' wireless??

Following Ali was an impossible job really.
I know he rarely said anything bad about the Boro even though we were abject at times, but Ali was a rare talent and some of his words are as much Boro history as the results.
His Steau commentary, the Basel game, his "Big Aussie" moment, the list goes on. Genius, gentleman and genuine.

Drury seems to get a buzz when boro are getting beat maddison is on the boro payroll sould not be commentator

People conveniently rewriting history and forgetting the same dogs abuse Ali used to get?
Drury is alright, far better than some of the away commentators I’ve heard on ifollow at away games.
However Maddo’s punditry gives insights into the world of the professional game with such pearls as “Carrick will be looking to keep things tight early on”.
