Hardest geezer

Not seen a post about this but Russ 'hardest geezer' Cook completed his run from the southern most to northern most point of Africa today!

He's been robbed, kidnapped, suffered health issues and ran through war torn countries covering 16000km.

Unreal achievement.

I've followed him from near the beginning of his journey, and it's been incredible. If you look back on his posts on twitter he really is bonkers. Mentality plays such a big part, and he's just oozes positivity.

Its very hard to believe, an incredible feat, pro athletes get injured training on a regular basis. To run 27 miles per day for 365 days, eat, rest and go each day without injury is miraculous. Well done.

This has made him a household name really but he once ran from Istanbul to his home town Worthing and separately he has the world record for fastest marathon whilst towing a car 🤯

Meanwhile I get out of breath running a bath

Incredible achievement and I have enjoyed following his journey on Instagram over the last year.

I consider myself a decent long distance runner but couldn't dream of doing even a fraction of what he has done.

Kudos to the Hardest Geezer.

For him to keep going through kidnapping, burglary, extreme weather and illness is a staggering achievement of mind over environment. A blustery wind puts me off running round the block!

Who do you think will play him in the movie or who would be ideal? There will definitely be a movie released about this!!

These extreme challenges people, like the guy who took the fridge up to the top of Kilimanjaro or Jasmin Paris who did some ridiculously hard regime of marathons in extreme heat whilst climbing the equivalent twice the height of Everest. They clearly have something different that makes them tick. Fantastic charity fund raising but crikey

Also been "robbed" of the title of first person to run the length of Africa by the World Runners Association. Fair play to Jesper Olsen that is a hell of a run too:

Unreal achievement this, I donated £20 a few months ago and have been following him on twitter for about 6 months.

He's ran 1000 of my longest ever run in a year, fills me with fear just thinking about that.
