But I’m lying in hospital having been told that I’ve had at least one heart attack in the past couple of weeks. I’ve been having what I thought was panic attacks most of this year, which seemed to come to a head a couple of weeks ago. I had a really bad one but would never have thought it was a heart attack.

I had another one on Friday. I knew something bad was happening because the sharp, intense and burning pain in my chest was like nothing I’ve ever felt before. I decided to take aspirin and Gaviscon and then rest. But I can’t walk for even a minute without feeling breathless.

I called 111 today and saw a doctor and they sent me here. Lewisham Hospital A&E. I’ve just had an injection in my stomach to thin my blood. And then this week it’s an angiogram.

A heart attack at 41. Absolutely mad.

Oh blimey. I've had similar but no heart attack and I'm 49 so know how you feel. Rest up and take it easy. Probs best to avoid Boro stuff on Weds in my experience.

Crikey - really sorry to hear that viv, I know it is a cliche but they do wonderful things these days.
Managed to keep the wife alive after Stem cell treatments etc...b@st@rds...just when I thought I'd be getting a newer model ;)
Seriously tho I wish you the best of luck and health.

Best wishes mate

If you really must have a heart attack have one in the cardio unit. It worked for my dad, a few chest pains and admitted for monitoring he had a massive killer heart attack in the ward they jump started him and he lived another thirty years (made 96) they will sort you out.

Take care and keep us posted

I collapsed 5 years ago on Shepherdson way after the Boro v Bristol Game 2018. I didnt have a heart attack but my heart stopped and went into backflow due to a congenital fault from birth I never knew I had until that awful day at 56 years old. I played football until I was 50 years old. I was lucky and had an replacement aeortic valve 7 days later and recovered over 6 months.

Keep your head up Viv, and the Angiogram is the beginning of your recovery, you will get through it and its better to know and be where you are at the moment mate. Pretty good these days believe me. I was terrified of needles, I ended up giving myself Heparin injections about four times, but all patients who stop overnight get them these days.

Best of wishes to you, thoughts are with you.

Edit* Its 6 years ago now
