I think Sunderland are going down next season if they don't invest the Clark money wisely. They've been in freefall since they binned Mogga.
I was comparing our last 10 games to earlier in season when we had a defence like a sieveNot really. Birmingham only conceded 9 as well. Goals scored is more important.
In reality it's about striking a balance between attacking and defending. However the last time we were promoted we scored 5 less goals than we currently have this season but conceded 30 fewer. Not really. Birmingham only conceded 9 as well. Goals scored is more important.
I think Sunderland have problems, players look like they don’t give a **** most weeks, squad not remotely strong enough to mount a promotion push next season, managerless and the owners model has fallen off a cliff and they don’t want to invest anymore money.I think Sunderland are going down next season if they don't invest the Clark money wisely. Thankfully this year has shown we have got a deep squad. We're going this with 5 or so first team players missing.Reminds me of when we finished really strongly under Mowbray one season.
Loads of summer optimism which seemed justified when we started the next season like a steam train.
But the squad wasn't deep enough and the train eventually came off the tracks.
It's been the same the last 2 seasons. Finished well under Wilder 21/22. Finished well under Carrick 22/23. We've failed to carry it into the next season both times. Mainly because we've sold important first team players and our new signings have failed to hit the ground running.Reminds me of when we finished really strongly under Mowbray one season.

If only we'd picked up 6 points from Rotherham instead of 1If only the season was a few games longer, or Dieng and Latte Lath had been back in the side a few games earlier.
Eh? We didn't finish well last season at all, we won 2 of our last 10 games, playoffs included. It's been the same the last 2 seasons. Finished well under Wilder 21/22. Well I was stretching that more across the back half of the season.Eh? We didn't finish well last season at all, we won 2 of our last 10 games, playoffs included.
Shouldn't have needed them to beat Rotherham. Latte Lath wasn't in the form he is now earlier in the season even when he was playing. Easy to look at him now as a big player for us now that he's scored 10 goals in his last 11 games, but around that time he'd had a run being kept out the team by Josh Coburn who wasn't really scoring many either. No Dieng or Latte Lath in either of those matches.
Also Under Wilder in 2022 we seemed to struggle after the Peterboro away game at the beginning of April - losing at home to Hull, Fulham, Huddersfield and at Preston.Eh? We didn't finish well last season at all, we won 2 of our last 10 games, playoffs included.
inshallah!I think Sunderland are going down next season if they don't invest the Clark money wisely. They've been in freefall since they binned Mogga.
