The Royal Family has a lot of plonkers in it, for example Andrew, Fergie, occasionally Charles and Philip, but the Sussexes are some of the worst.

Exactly this, they are not suddenly going to become hermits, but what they want is the ability to choose when and where the press are involved.

No different from other celebrities who also try to control their public image.
 
Meghan and Harry have no self-awareness at all, I can only imagine the Netflix documentary they have signed up to will be a TV car-crash

I bet you it will be far from that. He’s no Prince Andrew. Comes across well in the media. She is a highly trained performer in front of tv cameras. They will have control over the production. It will not be a “car crash”

The longer we carry on going on about them, the longer they think they can do what they like and we'll put up with it

I take the view that they just fancied more control over their privacy and what goes to the media and what doesn’t, and broke with tradition but that’s about it. No ill will.
