Arsenal have offered £105m + £5m in add ons for Declan Rice. Don’t get me wrong he’s good, but that is an obscene amount of money.
It'll make him the 4th most expensive player of all time, he shouldn't be the 4th highest transfer in the world. It does seem a lot but it is the going rate for a player of his calibre. I could see City outbidding them though.
I don't think he will be for long. Does anybody know if Chelsea had a sell-on clause???It'll make him the 4th most expensive player of all time, he shouldn't be the 4th highest transfer in the world.
Why would Chelsea have a sell on clause for a player they released when he was 14?I don't think he will be for long. Does anybody know if Chelsea had a sell-on clause???
They’re not paying to transfer them, they’re paying compensation to rip up a contract of employment, technicallyFootball transfers have always been obsence when all things considered. Why does one employer need to pay another to transfer an employee to their organisation?
It all seems a bit bizarre. Agents are the ones who do very well out of it. Plus the players themselves of course.
The buying club is buying the registration of the player. Where the player is registered determines where the player can play. They’re not paying to transfer them, they’re paying compensation to rip up a contract of employment, technically
Paying that much for a player with a year left on his contract is madness to me.
They’ve just spent 65 million on Havertz aswell tbfIf Arsenal get the £35m they're asking for Balogun, they've recouped a large part of the Rice bid without touching their 1st team group. And no doubt plenty more outliers that they can cash in on.
