🇦🇹Boro in Devon week🇦🇹

I'm putting this up for Boro fans who might be here for one or two of the matches and are spending a few days or week down here.
Not sure what we can do with it maybe put up pubs before both games.
You can ask questions and maybe people with knowledge of Devon, Exeter and Plymouth can help out.
UTB
Are the Boro team stopping down this week mate?

There's a massive 'Spoons just round from St David's railway station called the Imperial. Takes about 5 minutes to walk up the drive to get to it. Biggest and poshest looking Wetherspoons I've ever been to.

As for Plimuff, there's not much around the ground really apart from the bus depot. There's a 'Spoons there called the Britannia and not much else. But behind that there is the residential area of North Prospect, or 'Swilly' as it's known.
It makes Mogadishu look like South Kensington. Don't even think about it.

Plymouth town centre doesn't have too many pubs nowadays. Avoid The Eagle... The Newmarket and Noahs Ark should be OK. The Union Rooms is a big Wetherspoons... That's OK.
Nothing on Union Street anymore so no point going there. Pubs down at Keyham and Devonport buts it's a bit far away.
Not too far from the station is Mutley...busy area but pretty much exclusive to uni students though.

My first Airbnb is just around the corner from there so that's where I'll be heading.

Just heard weather forecast for the week. Packing my waders and think I'll be finding some indoor attractions! 🌪️🌧️

The away end is covered now, I can't remember* where they got the roof but they got it in the last 7-8 years from another ground.

My week is fun. In Cyprus at the moment. Get back Friday night. Then on a train at 6am to Plymouth! Madness, but my wife and daughter happy to have peace from me and the boy after a week on holiday with us😄.

We arrive in Plymouth about 1215. Is there anywhere worth going for lunch. We are staying at the Premier Inn Derry's Cross. Anything near by for a drink and bite to eat?

I'm going to put the question on the FB page of the south West Supporters group just in case no one on here knows

Here are some initial comments from the FB group

"There are plenty of options for people from Derry's Cross. They are in the City Centre, albeit at the less developed end. Depending on what they want are looking for, they can head to the top of the city centre for options in the Drake Circus mall and barcode (mainly high street/chain options), they can easily get down to the Barbican where there's lots of pubs and restaurants, fish and chips and Cap'n Jasper's, or head to Royal William Yard for some more options for food and drinks."

"There is an amazing Turkish restaurant on Derrys Cross itself called Dunya, it would probably be about a 15 second walk from the front door of their hotel"👍

"If it’s Thai food then the most authentic is the one downstairs in the pannier market"

" The Greek on the Barbican is pretty good as well, in the hut by the bridge across to the aquarium"

At first,I thought you were talking to me.

However, I no longer live in Devon and when I did it was North Devon, many miles from civilisation.

Have a good time in Devon.

There is four in Exeter, Sawyers in St Thomas is my local and most used Spoons but it can be a bit handbags at dawn occasionally but very friendly mostly. The Chevalier is at the far end of the city centre from St James Park, it's really a Lloyds but only does music at weekends, and you might have to queue to get in. You come out of it and have a 15-20 minute walk, all along one road -high street and sidweill street. George's is close by and 3-4 minutes walk back up a gentle hill to near the Chevalier, very relaxed , very calm it's my favourite.
As said the imperial is massive but it might be packed with Students topping up before pub crawling around town on Halloween. It is 30-40 minutes walk to the ground.
All have bus stops which if you pick the correct side of the road will have buses that take you to or near the ground.

My plan is to head for St Annes Well near the ground,

If no good the Clifton is next point of call
I might give them a ring ( St Anne's)to see if they are open tomorrow, I know they had closed a few months ago, then reopened a month sgo, it is the perfect pub for the ground and if you come Sidweill Street direction, it is the fast food centre of Exeter including Turkish Cocktail bars/ restaurants. The Clifton in next to a really big car park and is a good one from getting away from the ground.
