08:48 hrs 7th December 1941 - the Japanese launched the attack on PEARL HARBOUR - marking the entering of USA into WWII

Quite simply a stunning attack and one that in hindsite turned the course of the war. I'm sure that at some point the US would have come into it but it definitely advanced it.

I've actually been 'lucky' enough to visit the Navel base and have a look around the museum and memorial. The site of USS Arizona is still quite chilling. You go out onto a floating platform to view it and hardly anyone speaks. It's so somber and you can still feel how it effects Americans who are visiting it. I just heard one guy behind me say 'f*ck they had some balls coming into our backyard picking a fight' (very America).

I noticed at 2100 tonight on Sky History HD are showing Pearl Harbour: Survivors Remember. I'm not sue if it's been shown before but should be worth a watch as accounts from eye witnesses. I will definitely be recording👍

The priest conducting the Sunday morning service on one of the battleships when the attack started, the Rev Howell Forgey, is reputed to have said "Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition".

That's such a great quote.
