Getting a bit worrying now!
I know the government says the next few days the figures might be higher due to missing data from the previous couple of weeks but seems very high.

I dont know if I heard right on the radio just now, but there was an error last week where 16,000 positive cases were missed off the figures?!!
If thats the case....nothing about this shower surprises me any more(n)

Cases alone are not useful at the moment. 22,961 are not the number of positive tests in a 24 hour period. Lets wait until the the cases are plotted by specimen date and then the trend can be assessed. I may sound like a stuck record but case data needs to be viewed with an eye on triage data, symptom tracker app data, REACT study data. Those metrics are not showing a rapid increase and there is geographical variation, no surprise there.

And admissions / hospital bed occupation / ITU occupation need to be put into context with other respiratory diseases which see an increase at this time of year.

Government whack-a-mole strategy based on world beating track and trace is now looking like a burst 4rse.

Worst will be over by Autumn, Christmas, no I actually meant Spring - maybe.
Look 40 new hospitals!, and the easiest trade deal in the history of the world.

Drunk, criminal, aimless feckless and hopeless is how Boris described working class men. Single mothers are irresponsible!! He must be the poshest working class bloke in the country having more than met his own criteria.

Out of his depth and out of control con artist who lied, cheated and back stabbed all the way to No10.

They couldn't cope with 3,000 test and trace a day never mind 23,000.

Most cases of cases will never be found out, because its too difficult to get a test or people don't know they have it or just don't go for a test - so we are probably running at double the 23,000 a day recorded.

To be honest if we open up the economy its impossible not to have a significant rise in infections - what matters more are hospital admissions and unfortunately death rates.

It is so depressing that the government have displayed, at best, massive incompetence in their handling of this, and at worst, absolute brazen corruption, at every single turn.
There was so much data and advice available about successful track and trace systems and apps, yet they ignored it all in order to line the pockets of their mates with our money, to the detriment of us all, costing many lives.

What’s even more depressing is that people are letting them off the hook and still think they’ve handled things ok.

Brilliantly put

The massive rise in cases must have been forecast by the Government. Why else would you allow students back to Universities? Its because they feel the death rate is acceptable. Its kept a lid on care homes - for now. When does it reach a point because the death rate is on the uptick when they have to say enough is enough?2ED435E8-A3C5-4D09-A749-973443B897AC.jpeg

Dido Harding ran a third rate mobile company. What on Earth was behind her appointment to run Deloitte Sercos “World Class” Track and Trace system, which incidentally after this mornings news is an unmitigated disaster.

And then they wheel out the odious Theresa Coffey on all media outlets to apologise and who flounders at every question her only stock answer is “we will get it right in the future”.

Its really annoying listening to government ministers using PHE as their fall guy. Its Serco test & trace thats failing and the media are letting them continue failing without the correct scrutiny.

The only thing Dido Harding doesn't regularly lose is her job, thanks to her closeness to the horsey set.

And Therese Coffey getting wheeled out to patronise us all on every channel this morning is really not a great way to start Monday.
