3 players to get us promoted

As we stand at present

We probably need a right back - most seem to agree Ayling would be an improvement on Smith/Dijksteel.

We need a first 11 Central Midfielder (Howson's age, Barlaser not good enough for regular starter) some say O' Brien I am not convinced he is quite good enough, great for cover. So I would be looking for a younger version of Howson.

Left sided attacking midfield is an area to improve. Greenwood did look promising, but has faded.

Sorba Thomas looks very useful and too good for Division 1 - if he can effectively play one of the midfield roles we should be bidding. I think there is more in him in a better team.

Also a central attacker to replace Rogers and Crooks. Coburn is OK for cover, but we really have only 1 out and out striker, Possibly Azaz replaced Crooks. Gilbert was bought as striker but seem to prefer supporting deeper roles. Forss is constantly played wide right as a winger with a eye for goal. I think Archer and Whittaker will be out of our price range (Max £6m plus add ons). Archer would see it as dropping a division too. If Hull fail to make the play offs and need to reduce their finances in the summer, Philogene is a striker I would be bidding for.

I think LB is not a major problem as Bangura and Engel are developing still, but needs constant reviewing.

Where’s this idea that Marcus Forss is leaving coming from? I’ve not seen anything at all about him other than injuries.

#1 priority is keep your best players, and I would certainly include Forss in that. The lad just scores goals.

I hope Alex Gilbert can kick on in pre season and become a contender for week in week out starter. It’s obviously he has talent.

Coburn, time to step up properly and be the man who is a serious contender for that #9 role. Might be a huge step though because ELL has taken off since his comeback.

Ayling, might prove a short term fix at RB with Smith in reserve.

Can’t see the club entertaining the idea of Hackney swap for Archer. Although, I would very much welcome Cam Archer back. Think the club will have a bigger price tag on Mr Hackney though. Potentially a much larger sale.

Priority on a creative “Gaston Ramirez” type midfielder for me, if such a thing exists.

Archer isn’t coming back - that’s just cloud cuckoo land. We don’t pay those kind of wages now, and neither should we.

I don’t think Steve Gibson would entertain that type of person at the club for one minute - not a chance of it.
 
For me, 3 players this season that would push us to the next level doesn't necessarily come down to individuals but filling 3 HUGE problem areas.

Howson replacement - First thing is a proper box to box midfielder just like Howson, I want Howson to stay so it'd be in rotation, but it's about time we get the replacement in and ready to go.

Left Winger - We need an out and out winger who can cross a ball. This could be possibly be combatted by signing Thomas on a Free and pushing Bangura up as I think he's very capable. However I think we should cash in on Huddersfield's misery and go get Sorba Thomas

Striker - Lath has been incredible but he'll need help, all the top sides have various strikers popping up and banging them in, we need a rotational option who can carry the can just as Latte can.

I've heard it said that he had 1 year left on his contract.
However, it's only his second season here, and he was reported to have signed a 4 year contract when he joined.

How is it apparent?
We seem to be in a situation where everyone is saying it because everyone else is saying it, but where has the rumour come from?
 
Left back, right back, centre mid and left wing.

Similar to what we needed when we came down from the premier, and Garry monk spunked it all on centre forwards.

Personally I would be happy with forss lath and coburn next season.
