Max Bird signed for Bristol City in January but loaned back to Derby for the rest of the season.
I imagine they'll sell him on next season for a tidy fee

I would be happy with all 3 nobby , been plugging Sorba for weeks, Archer for Hackney being mentioned on one Boro , Cantwell free , Thomas £3m

Yeah that's what I was thinking, we need revamp of the front 4. Archer would play on the left as you would presume Lath would be No9. Cantwell wouldn't be earning loads at Celtic

I was with you until you played Archer on the left... He's a #9... IF (and it's a big IF) we are to sign him, surely we have to switch to 2 up front?

I don't think Carrick changes the system.
So you play Archer as No. 10 or cutting in from the left. Obvs can play No.9 when Lath needs a rest.
You would also have Coburn in the mix. Along with Jones, Thomas, Cantwell and Azaz that would provide fantastic options...
Would sign O'Brien and Ayling.and with the defenders coming back from injury...
We would get promoted 😁

If it was only 3 we’d need some excellent players in the trio!
One would need to be Merson standard.

Biggest thing we need is a mobile and impactful CM. A monster CB who is dominant and can organise/lead. Then a wizard number 10 to create more opportunities in tighter games.

In reality, we’ll need 6-8 good players at this level to compete.
 
Regarding Illias Chair, is it just me who doesn't particularly want someone willing to hit someone on the head with a brick, at the club? It seems to be a fairly significant character flaw.

There will definitely be interest in him but I would be amazed if any team makes a move before the outcome of that case is played out.

As for Archer, I'd be surprised if we sign him to play anywhere else but as a 9 and I'm highly doubtful we'd change the system just to accommodate him. Likelier is ELL pushing out to IF on the right hand side, a position he played earlier in his career (although I'm not 100% convinced that's what we'd do either).

Sheffield Utd would want a fair whack if their money back if they sold Archer so soon
 
If he can prove his fitness over the summer I'd like us to try and get Ryan Sessegnon from spurs. I think he would be excellent in the left midfield role or left wing back if we need to play 3 at the back. Can also play left back. Got previous in this league and a good age.

Fitness big issue tho.

We already have 2 left backs who can play that position so it's a ❌
 
That would be disappointing 😕


If we get £10m for the pair I’d see if we couldn’t tempt Plymouth into flogging Whittaker…. Hopefully they get relegated! He’s a class act at this level
