.

There are any number near to me in Wiltshire, where people have released pets when they cant look after them. Can be nasty little buggers.

Nor sure bout turtles but we had pet tortoises when we were kids. Me and my 2 brothers got given one each. Mine died after a couple of years, my brothers died about 5 years later and my elder brother's was still alive until about 5 years ago when he took it down south with him and we think a fox got it in the garden.

we would have to dig them up when they hibernated and put them in a box over winter but other than that they were fine.

This one was snapped at High Eske nature reserve near Beverley sunning itself on a tree last summer.

Sounds wild this but a lad in my year at school found a turtle walking to the shop at lunchtime in a small stream/beck in Hartburn.

I’m not sure I’m allowed to tell you

But it was Cowpen Bewley

And it wasn’t eating 🍕
I see it there every time the sun shines, never actually seen it move though. it just basques in the sun all day.

I have been told it is a terrapin and there used to be five or six of them, but there is only one remaining now.

We had terrapins when we were younger when the first teenage mutant ninja turtles craze came about. Had them in the garden to let them get some sun and realised one had escaped.

A few weeks later we found it again sunning itself in the garden so Michelangelo managed to live ok for a few weeks on his own.
