The damage to the DG and other Tory stooges has already been done. If the ones on comms are actually BBC employees and not freelancers then they should be allowed to work without being called scabs or anything else. It isn't a pay dispute or about working conditions after all.
The wider sports broadcasting community has already sent a big message to the BBC hierarchy and the ball is now firmly in their court regarding how they handle the right to free speech.
I fully expect MotD, Football Focus et al to be back next week regardless of what now happens between Lineker and the BBC. I also fully expect that the calls for heads to roll at the BBC will increase when it becomes apparent just how much damage their association with the Tories is causing.
Sunak has already tried to distance himself from the whole matter and I'll bet that his backers are now weighing up the possible fallout of all the dirt surrounding the appointments of Sharp, Davies and anyone else they think might prove costly to them in the polls.

it will all be back for sunday & life will go on with them all barely mentioning it again after a week ?
