A heartwarming story involving Ronaldo

Well done to the firefighter. Lovely to see that something as minor as an armband can have such a hugely positive result.

I know I'm being pedantic, but that doesn't sound like Ronaldo had anything to do with it.

He stormed off the pitch like a child because his goal didn't count, throwing his captain's armband away in the process, a Serbian firefighter picked it up and did all the good work by himself.

I'll hold my hands up if I'm wrong and Ronaldo played a part beyond throwing his armband away.

That’s probably right, I took the “he” as referring to Ronaldo but with a second look it refers to the firefighter.

You plonker, Ronaldo! At least your strop turned into something positive! 😁

The firefighter says he did.
Where did it say that in the story? Sounds like Ronaldo threw it away and the firefighter picked it up after the game.

Just watched the clip and it really is pathetic though, wouldnt expect a child to behave in that way

Why did he disrespect the armband and the country he represents because he disagreed with a refs decision.

Strange mentality.

He's always been like that.
If he's not the centre of attention, he's not happy.

He didn't score in the match, and they didn't allow his late effort, so he lost his rag.

Reminds me of the Champions League final against Liverpool where Gareth Bale came off the bench to win it with a stunning overhead kick, and Ronaldo did absolutely nothing in the match, so at the final whistle he announced that he wanted to leave Real Madrid, stealing the headlines.

It would have been more heartwarming if the cheating get had matched the price and doubled the pot towards the cause.

I'm sure he could afford what is likely to be less than half a day's wages.

That serial assault case against him seemed to have been magicked away and I bet that wasnt cheap.

I could be talking out of my **** mind. Maybe he was innocent. I never kept up with the story.

Exactly as I read it. Hopefully if he reads the story he decides to match what it raised at auction. He may do lots for charity I dont know but whatever its small change to him.

EDIT Sorry I see Cogeur_le_Conq has just posted basically the same thing. Must start finishing threads before posting.

Wonderful from the firefighter.
As Laughing says Ronaldo also has been a big charity fundraiser all his career.
"Ronaldo’s Charity work also includes his donation of 165000 USD to build a cancer centre, 1.5 million for the construction and rehabilitation of the schools in Gaza, Palestine and frequent contributions for various causes.."
