A sensible Sunderland supporter

I always see Sunderland as a very similar club to ours and whilst I love nothing better than to see us beat them, I also would like to see both teams back in the EPL (below is in the table though if course).

Newcastle are a different kettle of fish, so to speak, their arrogance and delusion is and always had been laughable and I wish them nothing but bad luck really.
 
I don’t think they’re similar to us at all. We’re quite good, have been successful in living memory and are ambitious.

In my living memory Sunderland’s greatest achievement is finishing 7th in the Premier League twice, but otherwise broke the record for lowest ever points total in the PL - twice - and then spent years languishing in the third division.

If anything were quite similar to Crystal Palace. Bit yoyo, but worth watching, occasionally superb. A proper community club with brilliant support and sometimes a team that can compete at the very top end. Sunderland are like Charlton. *****, Championship fodder, occasionally lower, had a bit of a run in the top division, did well for a season or two but couldn’t hack it.
