George Camsell's statue is to be unveiled this evening at 7:30pm at the Riverside. It would be great to see a fantastic turnout for a Middlesbrough FC legend. All are welcome at this special day in Boro history!
Almost 59 years ago, the man who scored a record-breaking 59 league goals in a season retired from Middlesbrough FC after 38 years with the club. Today, a statue of the pit boy turned international football star will be unveiled at the Riverside Stadium. George Camsell will be immortalised in bronze on a plinth in the town he made his home and at the club where he was so dearly loved.
