Really looks excellent in that position. His ball retention is brilliant and a few times switched it and got us in.
Think it was his him who played Giles in for his goal. Really impressed, the way he has confidence with so many players around him to slow it down and play.

Yes he looks so composed and it really shows a different side to his game. Looks like he really enjoyed himself tonight. It’s nice to see us trying different things after seeing Wilder stuck in his ways

He’s looked a different player in that position. Dropping off/finding space, a few twists and turns to allow himself to advance with the ball, and more importantly using the ball well.
As above played Giles in with the outside foot pass after dropping deep.

He scored a good goal aswel but his finishing isn't great from 10 yards plus so suits him. I think there's something in him 10 and forss up top. Forss deserves another start.

Pleased for the lad - he probably thought he was finished here at the end of last season. On course for a decent goal tally if he can stay clear of any injuries

His work rate is really good he seems to tire around 80 mins but not surprising not having a full pre season with us. Hes our key player at the moment for us the way he keeps the ball. Big game sat for him

Absolutely brilliant these last couple of games.
I’m not sure if it’s just us Boro fans being starved of genuine quality up front after so many years, but I’ve not seen a striker with his sort of football intelligence since Viduka (maybe Bamford…), the turn and pass for the third was superb.
I love how he doesn’t just fall over if he feels the ball is going away from him as well (looking at you Muniz). He’s always fighting to win it back and more often than not he does.

Agree he always seems to stay on his feet and come out with the ball when he's up against 3. Muniz should take note

He's always had talent. Very highly rated as a youngster at Arsenal (think some paper or magazine predicted he'd be starting for England in this world cup 
).

We might not be able to afford him next season. If his form continues and he has a great season, then one of the parachute clubs could blow any contract we could offer him out the water. Not as if he owes us any loyalty after we f**ked him off to Greece for two years.

Hopefully we get him a new contract sorted asap.
Actually scratch that, someone on oneBoro just posted that we have a 1year option. No chance of us activating that before start of this season but looking like a good bet now if he keeps it up.

I think Chuba just yearned to be loved and wanted. The fans tonight gave him that, and he responded with a huge smile on his face. I’m really glad I went, and I’m chuffed to bits for the lad.
