Only 11 players have had a better league total than Akpom in our history (Camsell, Clough, Fenton, McClelland, Wilson, Peacock, Elliot, O'Rourke, Pease, Hickton and Tinsley).

Today he beat Slaven and McRae's best. He drew level with Brearley, Birkett and Horsfield.

Just 3 more and he will match John Hicktons 25 goals in 1970-71 making it the best season in over half a century. Feels like just a matter of time.

Unbelievable!!! What a player he is proving to be but as said before - the goals are only 60-70% of the story. His hold up play, passing and insight are raising the game of all around him!

Well this is a thread title I never thought I’d see on here 👀

However, what a season he is having, everything he touches turns to goals. Huge credit to Carrick for his change of role too, the lad is an absolute managers dream off pitch as well. The advance work he puts in on playing the opposition, his drive and ambition are beyond anything we knew or would expect. He is a perfect example of professionalism and younger players could learn lots from him on and off the pitch. I still 💩 myself when he runs up to take a penalty though 🤣

His last 2 have been much better hope that gives him the confidence now to keep on scoring them. What a player

I'm only messing. He could probably do with some after training practice and expert tips from Grant. A lot of his pens aren't the most convincing but as long as they go on, frankly who cares.
actually I think he has been working on it his last two have been decent sending the keeper the wrong way, seems he constantly trying to improve his game and has been working on his pens now!

30 goals would be the dream.

Obviously 8 in 10 is a big ask at the best of times, but he's on fire.

Hope he makes it, and he's done a fantastic job even if he doesn't.
