Akpom - Sheff U

I hope Gibson has more sense than I credit him with at times. Akpom is worth more to us than £8M this season. A 28 goal season EFL player of the year, they’re taking the p1$$.

I wouldn’t engage with them for anything less than £12M plus add ons and a new set of stainless steel cutlery for the boardroom

I'm fully aware of his history, but a better side than sheff utd could certainly take a punt on him.

Then where are they? If somebody was interested, the circumstances are absolutely perfect for another club to swoop in and get a cheap deal now.

But the two teams he's been linked with most are Luton and apparently United. *EDIT hadn't seen the WHU speculation

Time will tell. Hopefully this gets sorted and he starts with us.

Everton have missed out on a few , maybe they will come in for him .
West Ham , Palace , Brentford , Luton ,AFCB would suit Chuba , maybe one will make a move .

If our transfer business was based on losing our best player, the best player in the Championship last season, and trying to scramble for replacement signings after the season has started with only £8m, then our season is going to be a struggle.

That's assuming we spent every penny of the sale too, which I suspect the club won't.
 
There were two standout strikers in the Championship last year and one has just gone for £17M rising to £20M in bonuses. (y)

Akpom is off the back of one season in his whole career & a comparison to Harry kane ? Wonder why bayern aren't sniffing round then ? 🤔

He often played on the wing when young and that doesn’t change that he had a couple of good years in Greece.

He ended up a key player in an invincible team. That doesn’t happen and be a bad player having a bad season.

You can admit that your initial point about 1 good season in his career was wrong, you are allowed to learn, re-evaluate with new evidence and grow
