Akpom to WHU £18m?

hes got a year left and no sign of an extention .... the club will sell if he doesnt sign (or not offered) a contract ... 9 mill will be ok for him in this position

As for quotes or opinions about smoke, it’s only believable confirmation at the Vatican.
As for the £18m, if true, I’m sceptical but, it’s a great fee. Money of that quantity could not only replace but go towards any wage package we are able to offer whoever is coming in.
I will be surprised if Akpom is a flash in the pan or one season wonder, some of his link up play is excellent, he shows poise and vision, you don’t lose that.
People have paid more for lesser players in the past.

Nothing from a Google search, nothing on the hammers forum, nothing on another boro forum and nothing on twitter.

I think it’s just been made up.

Yes, but does make a lot of sense!

Injured,,,,really?
We need the money clearly.
He's from London and is a West Ham fan....
West Ham have a pot of money and are very short of players, they where nearly relegated last year and have lost their best player, arguably.
They can't wait until next transfer window...
Sullivan is notorious for dragging out negotiations....
West Ham (Moyes) wants a core of English players.....

Motive, opportunity and means.

Think he's gone.😞
Guessing for about 12 million.🙂

Were there to be any truth in this, It will be WHU trying to do a levy. Player has one year on contract left, player wants to leave, no other clubs may want said player, player made it clear he will only sign for one club, there you are Boro, take the scraps we’re offering you and get back in your northern hole.

It is tough on us, but if it is true, and it is an if, then we are between a rock and a hard place. The big boys generally get there way in circumstances like this.

Very true but from West Ham's point of view a very dangerous game to play. Ironically after the discussion about Luton and Giles,I think West Ham will be relegated.

It would help move things along if the player put in a word for his current club. This never happens, however.

A West Ham fan? Never heard that.

They’re actually by a distance much less important than wages
Rubbish. It is the combination of transfer fee, agents fees, wages and resale value.
Assombolonga cost more in fees than wages.
So did Fletcher.
So did Gestede.
So did Braithwaite.
So did Shotton.
Etc.
All elements of a deal matter.

Bit aggressive. Definitely not rubbish. I didn’t say they didn’t matter. I said wages are most important.
