Akpom

Best get rid of all 4 for free and free up some wages as Coluka says but who exactly would take them on after their current form ?

And of the four I'd say only one would be receiving a wage above the division average, Saville. The two coming through the ranks will be on comparatively low wages, if Akpom is on a decent wage Warnock should be on a final warning.

Why he won’t be fixing the contracts?

Warnock is the Boro manager isn't he? I don't think he is head coach like Karanka or Monk or Woodgate. That suggests, like Pulis, they have given him control of more than just the team. For example, Warnock made a point of getting the better lads tied down on contracts earlier on in the season. If he was just a head coach I don't think he'd be very concerned with that as it is club business. But I think Gibson will have put Warnock in place to run the club for him, as close to an 'old school' sort of manager as is possible in the modern game. Warnock will know what he has to spend down to the last pound IMO.

What exactly does the Chief Exec do then?
Warnock will be consulted, but Gibson will ok the contracts and Bausor will negotiate them.

That's a good question, but football is more than just about selling tickets, he'll have plenty to keep him busy.
You sell tickets by putting a team on the pitch that the fans believe in .
Signing the right players is down to the people who decide who the right players are.
This is all clubs win or lose situation.

Not sure about that really. I normally would feel for players as people but someone like Akpom, to me he seemed to hide away from things. He never really showed for the ball, put himself about, closed down, pressed, ran the channels, took a knock so someone else didn't have to a la Mikkel Beck or Kike. Players like Beck and Kike got stick but they got stuck in as well. You only realise that when they've gone and their replacements don't do likewise.

Akpom sort of reminded of Justin Hoyte in some ways, who seemed to actively avoid both receiving the ball and making any sort of physical contact with an opponent. There have been others. They're just lightweight. Which is fine if you're working your knackers off, you'll be excused quite a lot if you do that but aren't quite good enough a player, but to not put the work in just isn't right at all.
Justin Hoyte was very good yesterday.

More Warnock nonsense for me. I'm sure he did only watch him on video.

However, I find it hard to believe that someone who can apparently tell if a player can't defend after watching them on video for 5 mins, couldn't tell that a lightweight striker with a shocking scoring rate wouldn't be much use on his own in our system. He gambled and it didn't pay off. It happens, poor decision, all managers make them. Just wish he'd hold his hands up rather than treat us like idiots.

How long has he been a manager for? How has he scouted players previously? Because it sounds like he's only just decided him or his mates have to watch every single potential signing now. Based purely on Akpom. (Good luck with that during the summer by the way).

Anyway looking forward to every signing we make now being a nailed on success after Ronnie and Kevin have cast their eye over them.
That was my first thought that looking at players in the flesh will be nearly impossible over summer. But at least we know next year that any duck eggs are not the fault of the recruitment team. Likewise any successes are also down to the management team.
