How do.

Any alarm techies on the board tonight?

Got an issue with mine, seems to be setting itself off frequently tonight, and even popping the code in, doesn't deter it.

Its an Optima Compact

Not an alarm tech.

Mine goes off when there's a power cut (anti-tamper feature I guess?)

I wonder if you're getting a series of micro power cuts because of the storm.

I don't think its a series of cuts, as I am on the PC and that's not cut out, yet, but it seems calm here at the mo, no reason (that I can think of).

The battery may be dead.
Is that the one that sits inside the alarm box itself? Do they have a tendency to just go? No idea how old the alarm is.
Know if I can just disable the full system temporarily at all or not?

Cheers people.

Not an expert but I had a similar problem with mine and it was the internal battery that had died (they don't last forever I guess)

Guess its a trip to BnQ tomorrow.

Sorry people of Nmby/Teesville, will try to stop it as quick as I can when it goes off - my apologies in advance 😒

Mine kept going off in the summer, needed a new battery. Way to check is to pull the fuse out powering the alarm and if the power goes off to it then the battery is dead as it should switch to that as a back up. Mine hadn’t been changed in 20 years as it had the date on it. Got a new one from screw fix at skippers lane for a tenner, job done!

An update, since disconnecting the battery, leaving it out for while, then removing then re-insterting the bell wires, then popping th battery back in, it seems to have sorted it - no more alarm going off.
Will be getting a battery just in case it does go again soon.

Cheers all, and @redjohnnie :)
