This is probably just me being stupid but can anyone explain why I get alerts when somebody posts on a thread that I've posted on sometimes but not all the time? Doesn't seem to make much sense to me.

Think you have go to the settings mate & cancel alerts, at one time, certain posts, I was getting alerts, dont know how, or why, it happened mind

It assumes that you retain an interest in the thread subject despite having already posted. I find it mostly useful.

But that doesn't explain why I get alerts from some threads but not others. Earlier on I got an alert telling me that Erimus had posted on WeeGord's Friday night booze thread. But I posted on that Brexit thread last night and there have been four pages of posts since then and I didn't get one alert about any of those posts.

I really wouldn't be fine. I try to avoid the red stuff most of the time. It can make me gloomy and aggressive.

I get this too. Do you have a lot of thread alerts set up? Sometimes I miss one and the site then stops alerting me about the same thread again until I contribute
