Hi, looking for some advice. I have 18 inch VW alloy wheels that are heavily curbed and wonder first, is it possible to refurbish them even when really badlyt curbed? and secondly any advice as to where to go in Boro to get them done? tia

I've got a similar issue with one of mine. I'm planning to take it to A.W.R Alloy Wheel Refurbishment on Teesside Industrial Estate.

Have used these twice, they're on portrack lane down one of the side roads.

its cheaper if theyre standard alloys - if they are diamond cut it is more expensive

website says;

standard:
  • £57.50 + VAT = £69.00 per wheel. Four wheels = £230.00 + VAT = £276.00
Diamond cut:
  • £90.00 + VAT = £108.00 per wheel. Four wheels = £360.00 + VAT = 432.00
Dont know if that is up to date though

Thanks, how do I know if they are diamond cut and can they fix anything, even completel ybashed up ones?

A diamond cut wheel is machine finished, like this one. Mine was diamond faced, they welded up the gouge and re-faced it, couldn’t tell it had been done.

Keep us updated on how you get on etc please as this is something I need to get sorted too!

I blame the Mrs tho

Reporting back as instructed :) I went with Romax and they were excellent throughout, very helpful and did them quicker than I thought given how busy they are. I decided in the end not to get the diamond cut done as that was going to b £108 per wheel so I just got them in silver ( It was I think £56 a wheel). They look absolutely fantastic, like new! I am going to have to be really careful now not to curb them again - going to park a metre form the curb !
