Anyone heard anything on the real reason he is not in the squad?

Never know anything like it, sign a player in the summer and then a mystery injury and no real details on it or updates and we are now in October!

sudden recovery if Warnock leaves maybe?

It's meant to be a knee injury, and not the same knee that he's had problems with before.
Apparently no better than when it first started bothering him

who did his medical

I think we saw him train, realised he is dog turd and are using the injury excuse to hide our understandable embarrassment.

I believe he has fluid on his knees and until this goes he can't play or train fully. He has been doing upper strength training to keep some fitness.

I agree why was this nit spotted when he signed by the medical staff. I assume it developed at the beginning of July.

Yes you are correct - Neil W did discuss it, in one of his numerous self publicity and excuse interviews that some posters on here refer to :)

MFC have never issued any information.

I had completely forgotten we'd signed him!
What a great bit of business that was, especially since we are tightening our purse strings.

Neil Warnock has discussed Ameobi again and again at press conferences. The only mystery is when his knee will start to heal. The injury happened post signing and he has no history of major injury to that knee. It is appalling luck for Ameobi and Boro and amazingly frustrating for everyone, especially Ameobi.
I have reported back on Warnock's words at press conferences about the injury several times on here. As said above Ameobi is doing his own fitness programme, strengthening around the knee etc. Sadly, it is a very slow news story. It isn't a conspiracy - just that the knee hasn't been getting any better. It seems to be just a waiting game for the fluid to clear up. When it does I am sure there will be updates - but it is not a conspiracy.

Absolutely no reason to suggest there is a conspiracy I agree and for me it is bad luck but he’s had major knee injuries before albeit some seasons ago. He missed half the 2012 season with a knee injury and again 2 years later he missed a month with another injury to the knee. Sufficiently long ago though not to concern the medical team but interesting that Forest were not resistant to his sale. He was injured for the last 6 games for Forest and although I do understand this was his other knee you can get over-compensating injury from recovering from one to the other.

I can only assume that he was fit when he joined. I mean he'd have to pass a pretty big medical. Especially as he's had knee issues.

Then again we signed Britt not long after a very serious injury and he hardly missed a game for 4 years (well through injury).

Fisher is another random one. I know the injury was a freak one but he joined after pretty much 18 months of being on and off injured at PNE. We had fans staying when signed 'he's good when fit' or 'not been the same since he got injured'. That's PNE fans so you'd think we'd look into everything.

We have high expectations for the treatment of injuries nowadays, success wise. Can't win them all though.

Previous injuries were in his other knee.

We are not cash flush - we have to enter Moneyball territory to some degree i.e buy some players that other teams have turned their noses up at. Then develop them to make them better. They will be risks with this strategy. On the positive it worked with Watmore, where we got a decent player for free and moderate wages.

Fisher

Wasn't it a non football injury that he did at home playing with the pet dog?

Maybe that's why Britt always played like he was protecting an injury!?
