An Extremist Organisation

Surely The Tories themselves will be classed as Extremist based on their new definition.

The new definition, which will be distributed across government and Whitehall, will say: “Extremism is the promotion or advancement of an ideology based on violence, hatred or intolerance, that aims to: 1 negate or destroy the fundamental rights and freedoms of others; or 2 undermine, overturn or replace the UK’s system of liberal parliamentary democracy and democratic rights; or 3 intentionally create a permissive environment for others to achieve the results in (1) or (2).”

Yup -

ID cards to vote in the full knowledge it disenfranchises non Tory voters (even JRM says it breaches democracy)
Closing down parliament to prevent debate (then lying to the queen)
Allowing 3m more non doms the vote in an election in their previous constituency (despite not living there for over 15 years). Deliberate attempt to influence marginal seats.

I was quite upset when I lost my vote after 15 years in the States, seeing as it was always my intention to retire here. What really pîssed me off was not getting to vote in the EU referendum.

To be fair, JRM only mentioned that after the results were in to show that introducing it had actually hurt the Conservative vote more than they had anticipated😂

Does the general public count as an organisation that doesn't maintain public confidence in government?
I guess you're exaggerating but really who knows? We seem to be moving closer to an authoritarian state with every step this Government takes. Their own adviser, Jonathan Hall KC says it's a move from actions to ideology or ideas which certainly has the ring of thought police about it.
Whilst we will have to wait for the final draft it also seems at this stage that 'Extremist' is code word for Muslim, and the way the Tories have been talking up racism since May's tenure it wouldn't surprise me one bit.

The opening paragraph is also interesting . . .

"Ministers and civil servants will be banned from talking to or funding organisations that undermine “the UK’s system of liberal parliamentary democracy”, under a new definition of extremism criticised by the government’s terror watchdog and Muslim community groups."
. . . but no mention of receiving money from foreign states or actors for foreign states, whose interests may be more aligned to their own welfare than ours.

If I join one of these organisations will I never hear from HMRC again? If so, how do I sign up?

Sunak’s ridiculous speech, Gove and his definition. It’s designed to give the c*nts something to fight an election on.

Scare those daft enough to vote for them 2019 into believing the country is at risk, then claim to be the only party capable of “getting our country back”.

It’s so obvious but plenty will still fall for the nonsense.
