An intelligent forward who can play as a 9 or a 10

That’s what I think we should be looking for in the summer.

Any chance of Bamford coming back if Leeds go up?

Will Keane from Preston?

I think we need now what we’ve needed for a while, a general in midfield. We are far too soft at times and easily overran in midfield, putting untold pressure on the defence. Leeds at home was a prime example.

A bit of physicality in midfield would be great, but not at the expense of someone who can actually play a bit.

I think Carrick, with his style of play, will always prefer a good passer who is maybe a bit lightweight, rather than a strong and athletic player who is a bit limited.

We could do with a 30 year old Michael Carrick tbf

Stansfield had a decent return in a poor team , he would do for me.
Pacey goalscorer , and young . Loan or buy £5m.
I also think Sam Gallagher could do a job in rotation with Coburn .
I would love a marquee signing like a juicy South American , and would also take Mojmir Chytil for £3m or close.
People are saying we are trying for Archer, he can also play as a no9 or no10 , would be well happy with him .

Scoring goals is not an issue, conceding soft goals as said above needs to be addressed. In 2022/23 we ultimately lost in the playoffs to team who were able to dig in, counteract our attack and sneak a goal. There will be days were our attack in this coming season will be blunted and in that situation we just need to not give anything soft away and wait.

Or have a fantastic back up striker/no.10 on the bench to sharpen the attack mid game …. Still concede 3 though 😳

I was thinking that earlier in the season, but after the last few weeks I've realised that if LL continues on his upward curve he should be allowed to just roam, it seems he is effective if deep , or up high or running onto long punts or close in goal tap ins, I don't know if our system allows josh to just remain up front if you have another player not tied to the build up? Or maybe JC would drag players into the areas that LL would hope to exploit.
