Any gardener know what this is?

I bought a smallish tree-like plant [months ago] which sat in a pot and then decided to grow upwards really quickly. Now in a much bigger pot - large pods grew and are now opening to reveal these enormous flowers. Havent the foggiest what they are.....

its some kind of lilly i think. The brown pods are poisonous to cats and small furries.

Looks like a lily to me. The brown/orange on the stamen stains clothes and fabrics, be careful if you use them as cut flowers

Deffo lily. Be careful if you have cats cause all parts are lethal to them.

Asiatic Lily - there are lots for sale as cut flowers. Its not a tree, the bulbs will usually re grow.

A brown- gingery powder will come off the centre of the plant which has a nasty stain.

They come in lots of colours - the white ones are associated with weddings.

Defo a Lilly, as people have said lethal to cats b& also the pollen is an absolute unbelievable stainer - careful with hands and clothes. Ruined a few T-shirts in my time

They will spread each year in the pots they're in if there is space

you can cut the offending pollen spikes out and bi them to save your clothes / cats....

Try baby wipes when you're finished, always helps prevent skid marks I found.
