Anyone else been knocked sideways by flu jab ?

I had it on Monday for the first time ( I’m 54 ) and it hasn’t half hit me . Doubtless it’s going to affect some people detrimentally but I’m goosed . It’s not quite flu as only had that once and you don’t forget that but very much like a cold but with the fatigue , and I spent most of yesterday in bed and now can barely breath through my nose .
I’ve read some web info and it’s possible I picked something up prior to the jab . Even where the jab was administered was notably sore as I felt like I had a dead arm for 3 days . It’s possible I had an allergic reaction but just thought I’d pass it on here ( pardon the pun ) not to take it for granted it’s plain sailing ( give yourself an easy following day ) . Won’t be getting it again that’s for sure !
I had it a few years ago and I never felt so ill in my life, so much so that I decided since then to take my chances with the Flu.

Had mine last Saturday. Arm felt a bit stiff like I'd over stretched or something and for a couple of nights woke up about three in the morning with a headache (which paracetamol sorted out) other than that I could feel where I was injected if I poked it for a few days (so I stopped doing that).

not sure if you're trying to make a very specific point there??
I'm being facetious. We've had a year of hysteria about this virus (not without good reason) but the risk of passing on a potentially deadly bug to an old person in the supermarket and killing them has always been quite prominent, but never discussed. Hardly anyone bothers with flu jabs but already we're seeing some people vilified for not barging their way to the front of the queue for the covid vaccine.

Me my wife and son have had the flu jab for about the last 10 years, none of us have had anything worse than slightly sore arm for a day or so afterwards. I had the flu when I was younger, no way will I not have the jab it was awful.

Had mine last Saturday . First one I've ever had. Felt exhausted/ achy all the next day. - I was pre warned of this.
Had an early night and a good night slept on Sunday night and have felt fine for the rest of the week

It seems like it affects different people in different ways, Two other members of my family, one Male, one Female, have it every year and never experience any kind of reaction from it.

My mum had it a few weeks ago and it's put her off having the covid one as it knocked her for six for 3-4 days. Then again she is 78 and feck all on her.

I recieved a letter saying I was due it. I though it was slightly bizzare as I am 'only' 43 (thought it was 50?)

I didn't bother then received another letter a week later saying it had been a mistake. The computer had noted I'd had glandular fever a few years ago and I was 'high risk'. It turns out that's incorrect.

PS... Don't evey get glandular fever.... Now that does f*ck you. I was off work for 5 weeks 😕

Only reason I’m getting the covid one now is the fact I have my mam who is 89 in my bubble and she frequently comes to stay . I wouldn’t forgive myself if I unwittingly passed it onto her . Hence getting it Otherwise I wouldnt go anywhere near it .
Not proposing people don’t get it but give yourself a ‘gentle’ day or so following it .

I think you actually feel a bit out of sync with most jabs?

In many cases they are actually a bit of the virus into you to improve antibodies against it.... Well unless I'm just making that up? (I'm doubting myself writing it 😂).
Being in the forces, and now other government agencies. I fairly regularly have to have boosters for a wide range of stuff (tetanus, Yellow fever, Typhoid, Hep ABC etc).. Worst I've ever felt was after a Polio booster (the drop under the tongue). Felt like I'd been trampled on by a herd of rampaging wildebeest.
I can confirm Yellow Fever jab sucks👍

At which age can you get the flu jab or can you get it any age?
Anyone can get a flu jab if they want one and can pay for it at a pharmacist etc. About a tenner depending on where you go.

I think this year anyone over 50 has the option to get it for free and is being rolled out.

Got a text from my doctor last week to say it would be available to me soon if I wanted it as they were ordering more stock.
I personally paid for it and got mine 1st week in October and glad I did as have now had nearly 3 months extra protection.

Had the flu jab for the 1at time on Monday and now I'm absolutely loaded with cold. Dont feel too bad but bunged up, runny nose etc and feel very tired. Not had a cold all year thanks to social distancing. Not sure I'll bother getting it in future
Flu and Cold are totally different viruses. A Flu jab wont give you cold symptoms.

Friend of mine had it the other day and said she has it every year without any side effects, but this one gave her intense headache and fatigue for days.
