Anyone used Cinch to buy a car....

I did consider them, but I like the idea I can pop into somewhere when I have bought a new car if there are any faults or I need help with using/locating some of the added features.

Also if doing a part-ex do they knock you back when they see yur car like "we buy any car" By using a local garage/dealer you know with certainity what you have been offered.

One advantage with Cinch is the choice of car available and when I checked they were cheaper than the main franchised dealers for the same car (on paper)

I found a local Honda dealer that was actually cheaper than Cinch for car brands than were not Honda.

Yes I used Cinch last December. I part exchanged my old 2008 Mondeo for a 2018 MK5 Mondeo. You communicate using phone and email. They offered me a price for my car which I was happy with. I paid them the difference by bank transfer. They give you a 90 day warranty from a third party (RAMP) then you can buy an extended warranty. I didn’t. They also give you a three day temporary insurance so you have time to contact your own insurance to transfer it to the new car. They supply you with tax information that you can use to contact DVLA to get the car in your name and get a tax refund on your old car which you tell them is now owned by Cinch.
You then arrange a day when you want the car delivered. It is delivered to somewhere near Newcastle then driven down to your house. You need photo id and a current utility bill to show to the driver. When the car is delivered the driver shows his Cinch id and checks your id. He will show you round the car, inside and out and answer any questions. He will ask you to sign for it. He then checked my car. Basic things like bodywork and tyre tread. You need a log book and MOT certificate. He then drives your car away. That’s it.
The only problem I had was that a week later the car wouldn’t start! Obviously their “Comprehensive, thorough checks” aren’t. I called the AA out and they said the battery was knackered. I tried contacting Cinch but couldn’t get through so, in the end I had to get the AA man to put a new heavy duty battery on for £200. The AA man gave me a form confirming the fault so that I could tell Cinch. In the end I contacted the third party warranty Company called RAMP. They weren’t very complimentary about Cinch as they were having to fix the problems with the cars that Cinch were selling. The bloke at RAMP said that the battery should not have been faulty and he would contact Cinch about it. The good news is I got £200 back from Cinch to cover the battery cost and the car has been great since. Hope this helps.

Didnt know who they were till I bought a shirt for the final Test against New Zealand at Trent Bridge in 2022.
