AM for me is their sweet spot in terms of musical style and commerciality. everything since has arguably been a bit more "left of centre" and probably has fewer mainstream admirers?

What a night
The only downside (for about 30 seconds) and this had nothing to do with the band but they ran out of tea, how on earth do you run out of tea.

I’m not their biggest fan but they were sensational tonight. Absolutely brilliant. The riverside is also such a great venue for a gig like that. The sound quality and organisation was incredible. Boro must have made a fortune from bar sales and it felt like everyone had a fantastic evening judging by the reaction from the crowd.

Fantastic night, Alex Turner is a phenomenal singer. You really couldn't make out any difference in his voice from the studio albums. I've been to a few concerts where that sadly is not the case.

Absolutely knocked it out of the park…View from the Afternoon, Fluorescent Adolescent and Do I wanna Know was hair stand on end moment and then the perfect encore…a solid 10/10 for me

They've definitely matured, they can crank out the high octane hits, but they can croon like any of the best.
Loved the 1970s vibe from the bands attire to the screen colourisation, props to the session muso with the mustache from a 70s cop show, and the suit that looked like it had been created from Hilda Ogdens old curtains....superb work sir, you committed to the 70s lounge vibe.

Tremendous, completely blown away by that tonight. It was right up there with anything I’ve ever seen, in that I include other musical performances, films, football matches, anything.
It was absolutely magical in parts. Alex Turner is a great frontman. The atmosphere was amazing.
I too thought the Hives were really good.

I agree, as a venue the riverside is great. Having been to the Etihad and SOL it is much better.
