Are we going up this season? Yes/No

That squad would finish in the top two but heavily relies on us getting Armstrong and Choudary. I dont think we'll sign either tbh
 
Playoffs with what we have now (assuming Steffen is over the line), if we get a couple of strikers then top two.

If we don't get a decent striker or two (which I'm hoping is extremely unlikely) I might be tempted to play Crooks up front, and have McNair cover for midfield, albeit Wilder won't want to do that as it's a little bit of square pegs round holes.

Adam Armstrong - Southampton are fine with sending him out on loan. he wants s prem move, Southampton might not fancy it. Maddo has biggged him up (ex saints himself) I reckon if there is a loan to buy deal on the cards or a purchase on promotion I think he would be up for the move. Ex Newcastle presumably still has family & friends up this way. I’d fancy us for this one tbh. If it’s a champo move then he’s done well.

Choudhury West Brom apparently in the race, Steve Bruce has mentioned signing Okay Yokuslu.. so maybe not so much. Apparently Leicester asking for 80% of his wages to be paid? Rumoured to be £60k a week .. so £2.4m a year? Clearly not fancied by Leicester. Past two windows he’s been linked with Newcastle so fancies by Bruce but also open to a move to the north east. I think he could be a dark horse for a permanent move to boro. £2.4m this year 30k a week £1.5m a
year for two years after (on a three year deal)
£5.4m transfer deal?

Time for a fully costed manifesto?

No we wouldn't go up with that squad IMHO.
There is a blindingly obvious mass of recruitment to do as we are so very light on numbers and frankly lack quality in key areas - most notably up front.

Steffen seems certain to sign and may well live up to the hype and Roberts appears more than just cover anyway.
Smith is only here as affordable cover hopefully, so fair enough.
Greaves might well be a very good recruit, but Hull won't sell at the price we would pay. This would leave a gaping 2021-22 style hole at LCB.

You have us spending fees there on Greaves, Simms and Choudhury. My spending would be up front on quality.
I'm not drawn to Anderson, Simms or Choudhury at all, and relying on Muniz with Wilder worries me an awful lot.

Southampton are so low on strikers and desperately need to sign. I can't see them letting Armstrong go until deadline day. It is imperative that we sign quality up front before hoping we might get Armstrong at the death to supplement that.
Buy Goykeres and Riis quickly not buy Simms and borrow Muniz, and by all means hope to get Armstrong late.
Sign Mooy free now instead of a big fee for Choudhury and borrow better than Anderson.

Goykeres, Riis, Armstrong, Coburn and Watmore will fire us into the PL.
Muniz, Armstrong, Watmore, Coburn and Simms will not.
Choudhury would be an expensive mistake I reckon.

I mean.. we could be over half way through our transfer business.. talk of expensive mistakes and overspends I do not think will form part of the narrative this summer. With Keiren Scott quite possibly charged with the continuing near impossible task of reducing our outgoings, saving money and at the same time massively improving our squad to the point of a title challenge. Perhaps I was a little too giddy with the spends suggesting a two out/ one in approach THREE OUT and one really good in would certainly raise a few eyebrows. But like a magician whipping away the velvet cover.. here be magic!

- Left-sided centre-back
- Central midfielder
- Centre forwards

Potentially top 2 for me if, he gets the required strikers in, though, apart from the top teams everyone is after that one striker
If CW brings in strikers on a par with the ones he brought in last season we'll finish in a similar pisition that we finished last season
 
I don’t think we have made enough signings at the minute to improve our squad much from last year, so I am going to go with the same as I predicted last year, 7th.
 
As it stands we won’t score enough goals to get out of this league - that situation has to be remedied quickly with at least two quality forwards
