Are you a good judge of character?

I am hopeless, I get taken in all the time. My wife is brilliant though thank goodness. We were at a party and she met a lad from work who I thought was OK. She moved away from him and said to me he was no good. She never makes quick judgements like that.

He has been in prison twice since.
 
Interesting question. Is a good judge the ability that your wife has of identifying the bad characters or to find the best part of peoples characters.
In work, I have given people a chance, and developed them to outperform their expectations. These people have been incredibly loyal and I am proud of them.
Wish I had the same success in terms of my personal life.
 
I used to think I was but I've been ripped off quite a few times by bad 'uns that I thought were ok. Like a previous poster, my wife spots them a mile off, so tends to steer me away.
 
Usually pretty good. I think that's reflected in the fact I now have a large circle of friends who are all very good people.
 
Yes.

I do tend to think the best of people of the whole, and sometimes I do get burned, but there are some people that trigger a negative response in me.

Honesty and integrity (or lack of) is a huge thing for me.

Yes and no simply because I've mis-judged people in the past that turned out to be diamonds.
I also learned years ago not to bad-mouth someone I have no personal experience of

I think that sums me up too. I gave thought he's a lazy xxxx and realised later I was wrong.

But I also see the best in people to get very burnt.

You sound a bit like me mate. Said to a friend on here the other day that I'm a hell of a lot better at managing and motivating other people then I am at managing and motivating myself.
 
Yes, I think I am. In business I took a dislike to the occasional person, but would always be professional and never let on, they rarely failed to confirm my suspicions. Like the supplier who came across as a good mate, I was wary, he brought a good job to us, then asked for a backhander.
