Aston Villa

No, but they'll be right in the hunt for European football again.

They were second best for most of the match today, but Spurs kept passing up chances to score.

They’re a decent team but they’ve dropped on playing spurs when half of their team is injured, let’s not forget they lost at Forest the other week

I will have a pint on what your drinking... no chance of being in the top three... they beat a weakened Spurs team today.
Newcastle smashed them 5-1 back in August.
No doubt you're right. Although one result early in the season won't be the reason.

I just wonder if they'll be one of those teams that 'will fall away' but are still kicking about in April.

I think they've a good chance of Top 4.
Though I've no idea how strong their squad is to be honest. A couple of injuries and they might drop like a stone for all I know.

They've overtaken Man Utd and Chelsea in terms of pulling power, stability, how a club is run, youth prospects, identity of a club.

I thought Villa rode their luck a bit today - Spurs seemed to have more decent chances and several disallowed goals. Certainly though Villa are a top 8 team. They seem to have a nice balance.

They won’t win the league, but I think they’re better than top 8. Over 35 PL games in 2023, only Man City have more points than Villa. I think they’re right in that battle for 4th behind City, Liverpool and Arsenal.

I thought they were jammy as hell today.

Emery always strikes me as a lucky manager (to go along with his tactical nous). It’s a good quality to have though. Clough and Fergie had it
