Fancying a few days/ week early summer, anyone been? A bit past the Greek island beach holiday thing, so a city break with sights and a beach seems a good balance.

I stopped in Glyfada back in the day it used to be on the flight path for Athens airport and you sometimes felt you could touch the wheels of the planes as they came into land.
Swansea were playing AEK, I think it was and some of there supporters were staying at our hotel.Their was some trouble in the bars the night after the match which made the National newspapers and a few of the Swansea fans spent a few night in the cells. We had an armed guard outside the hotel for a while.
Had a great time. :)

Keep em coming
Planning to go over by train in September
Can you keep us updated on how it goes, we'd be interested in doing this. The Acropolis museum is well worth a visit. Go to the Acropolis as early as you can and definitely pay for a guide. Use the metro to get around. If you fancy a beach day, get a bus out past Glyfada. Stay in the Plaka/Monastiraki area and maybe go on one of the walking tours around that area. Hike up Lycabettus Hill, but again try to do this as early as you can because it can be hard work in the heat. If you get a bit lost, don't worry, just sit in the nearest bar, have a drink and talk to the locals. We did just that last time . Actually we had a few more than one drink because the locals kept including us in their round.
