Rotherham looked like they didn’t want to play football and we looked like we didn’t know how! I am not normally one to rant after a poor game. I have been going to Boro games for 40+ years and have seen some shockers but today feels worse as we had so much potential going into the season but it is going to be another season with nothing to show. I suspect we will be clobbered by Chelsea and while we could still make the playoffs, we would need a big turnaround in form. I just don’t think we are good enough. Feeling really negative about Boro now.

I don't mind the playing out from the back and moving it around to find space but we simply do not have the quality players up front to get any further. We try to walk through the last line and lose the ball. AND we never seem to do anything from corners or free kicks. Just lack quality all over the pitch

I felt today there was a bit more to it than quality and I have thought that about plenty other games this season. We lacked urgency and determination which is a motivation thing imo. We seem to react to games like this, but why do have to react to games we are not up for?
Carrick is now blaming decisions by the ref more and more, but the game is far longer than only a few moments…..we need to be doing more….far more, especially against these teams.
They are truly awful but they have got 4 points off us this season and came close to getting 6. The ref helped them out he was shocking, to let Jones get crocked without a yellow card was a crazy decision.
We need to get the first goal. Second half they were a little bit more open and scored, the only surprise for me was that we managed to equalise I didn’t see that happening.
We are too ponderous at times round the box, our players are very reluctant to shoot. Ayling hit one first time over the bar second half but no one else that I can retook a chance.
If we allow teams to get 10 behind the ball in a substantial amount of our attacks it’s always going to be difficult with a ball in the box.
We at times need to be more direct and I don’t mean hitting it up the centre forward but just not playing the ball back and trying to draw them out.

I have had it. Probably calm down later just so down about today, it was simply not an enjoyable game in any wayUnfortunate line break, I said we missed Jones and Howson then said Hackney had a bad game

Rotherham went down for 8 injuries in the game - only one seemed competely genuine - most of the their throws seem to take an age and often nicked 5 metres. They have mastered time wasting.
I would guess they argue they only have half the budget we do, but we didn't behave as they did today when we played Chelsea and we have 5% of their budget.

it was a poor game although having 70% possession we were in control of the ball yet failed on the final pass to create a shot on goal . Though Josh looked ok for his goal but the TV didnt show a close up ... A hard watch
No need to wee the bed..
However three things are apparent.
1) Missing a solid half of our starting 11 is going to be an issue for any game we're expecting to dominate.
2) We're quite a ' not pacy ' squad ... We've three " quick " players out of 24 ? ... Carrick wasn't quick and neither was woodgate ( after injury) .. both were super quick in their head.
3) We're verging on desperate for a fit CF , I think coburn can disguise/ hide the lack of pace in the team , and I believe a 100% fit Coburn would work, but he's obviously 70% at best fit
