Azaz is starting to turn up.

He’s brilliant when the ball comes into him with his back to goal on the half turn. Then he gets into gear with his head up and is absolute threat. The higher up the pitch he receives the ball the better as he’s not lighting quick.

I think he looks a real good player and it’s no surprise to me cos for Plymouth he was the same.

Big chance for him to keep catching the eye between now and the end of the season. He could have potentially a great season for us next season. Fingers crossed.

Will be a good purchase.

Think we should more or less build our attack around him next season.

Would be great to have pacey wide players who like to run in behind either side of him.

We've been crying out for someone who can it a ball from 20+ yards for a while. Grab a goal out of nothing. Hopefully he's learning the role Carrick wants him to play and when we have Jones and McGree either side of him he'll only improve and get more chances to score belters (all the time maybe - Is his hair fine?)

Agreed with much of what has been said already. Best player on the pitch last night. Add LL and jones’ pace running onto his through balls, and he’ll look even better

Agree, I think he could be a very shrewd signing.

Another one the scouts and director of football have probably got right

I was at Deepdale last night (worst luck) ,

Azaz was our best attacking player on the pitch, he grew into the game, and took his goal well, he lacks pace but has a good football brain.
That goal will do him the world of good, hopefully he will kick on.

Azaz was great last night. Showed for the ball. Looked dangerous. Obviously a great goal as well. Best game for Boro so far.

McGree also very good last night. Showed some quality we've been missing.

Forss and Greenwood didn't get involved at all

Azaz was very good last night. I thought Mcgree was the best player on the pitch.

McGree was excellent and didn't deserve to be on the losing side.

Azaz reminds me of Tomlin in what he offers; he's good at coming for the ball and turning in tight areas. He's hardly played for us yet and will improve, but so far it looks very encouraging, especially last night.

I think he needs pace around him. Hopefully when ELL and Jones back we start to see the best of him. Whatever happens between now and the end of the season, we need to inject more pace into the squad in all positions in the summer

If we were able to put our best team on the pitch I suspect he would be in it. Still developing mind - needs to dial down the weight of his passes/shots for example.

Goal was good for his confidence, and his performance last night was better than most of Rogers were so I'm happy overall.
I think he got a bit over confident though, went for a few shots after his goal when there were better options on, unlike when he scored and there were not any other better options on.

Just needs more time, get more up to speed and if his decision making improves he could be a really good player.

McGree was also excellent, I was saying on another thread how people were talking about McGree like the return of the king, and a didn't quite understand why, but last night was one of his best games in a Boro shirt I think. I don't remember him losing the ball.

Got the impression last night that after his goal he thought he was going to do that every time he was 20 yards out. There was one occasion when Greenwood and Forss were both in space and he opted to shoot into the defenders shins.
