Anyone else have to “back their books at school?”

I remember my English book having a cover of Michael Atherton from a magazine on it and science had Juninho.

Luxury mate. I had to use a cheap and very thin roll of brown paper to back mine. You were obviously one of the posh kids.

......and it just had to be super fresco for added cushioning protection (and you could trace around the lumpy bits with a decent HB!)

We only got ours when we scraped the room and it had ten years of emulsion on it.

What's wrong with Athers. Decent in his day. Apart from the fact he played for the wrong county.

Yes I remember doing this with old wallpaper.

I do have a vague recollection of doing this, only in primary school though I think, seem to recall a browny tartany kind of sticky back plastic affair.

What's wrong with Athers. Decent in his day. Apart from the fact he played for the wrong county.

Haha nothing I must have liked him a lot at the time, but obviously Strauss and Cookie came along later who were a big upgrade especially the latter

I don’t think I quite got right, I painted mine with Artex.

My mother was a devotee of Anaglypta wallpaper. It was murder to back books with and difficult to write the title on if it was heavily textured.
