Be interesting what happens to hoppe now

He looked woefully naive when he made his one appearance for us. Wilder wasn't wrong on that front.

Will be interesting to see what happens to Wilders additions that he wanted and played.. Steffan, Clarke & Mowatt... Flapper of a keeper!!! and two of the slowest players I have ever seen..

To be fair i think he only wanted them because we failed on other targets and they were easy loan deals. I don't think they'll have been anywhere near the top of his list

Never mind Hoppe .. It gives Forss an opportunity having barely had a look in despite getting a goal in one of his first games.

Feels like they purposely haven't been used because Wilder had spat his dummy out because they weren't his choice.

Yeah you are probably right, but to keep playing them, week in week out, when its clear all 3 are playing awful is baffling..

I know we all want better players and I am not a fan of 'projects' myself.
Most fans are impatient if we admit it.
But this year our forward 'department' was severely depleted and bodies were needed.
It does make me sick to miss out on players like Gykores.....but look at Akpom, he wasn't cheap either (£2.5m) and pretty much derided by us all in his first season. Now he's been talked up as a good player.

Football is mad.
IF Akpom finishes with twenty goals this year does he move straight into the £20m bracket?

One appearance! Shouldn’t be judged until at least 6 or 7 !
You don't give players 6 or 7 games in the first team to see if they're good enough. You watch them in training and u21's games, then if you think they're ready you try them in cup games or off the bench. If they hold their own you keep going. Hoppe showed he wasn't immediately ready for the first team.

I watched the U 21s on Friday. Hoppe got a chance near the end and it was an open goal but managed to hit the bar. We've probably all done it as you are gong like the clappers just to get there and its in the wrong place and the wrong height ............. b u t

I thought our chance had gone - thank you Joe Gibson for proving me wrong

Explain Connolly then as he was awful

I'm not sure i can agree on that. I have no doubt you're right that they weren't his choice, but Forss has really struggled to get involved or have any threat when he has played. Of course you could say that that may have changed with more opportunity. From what i've seen though he's rightly down the pecking orde. Hoppe i have no idea really but we've paid decent money and he doesn't have a real track record. I'd be interested to see what he's about though

He has played U23’s a scored a couple of goals, not sure I get where you’re coming from here, if Leo or the new Manager think he is good enough, he will get game time on merit.
