Beer Blade

I've got the Perfect Draft machine that Phillips do and if it is half as good as that I'd say do it. It does seem expensive in comparison to the PD but the kegs look bigger.

Get a PD better variety of kegs 👍

I did look at the PD stuff, and it looks like the PD kegs are about £25 - £30 for 10 pints, (but you get £5 rebate beer voucher when you return the empty keg) and the Blade kegs are about the £30-£35 for 14 pints.

I did wonder about the variety of kegs, and if I would drink 14 pints of a particular beer, rather than swapping and changing like I do now.

PD have loads more variety if you like to change/try beers (as stated by others).

Blade is more aesthetically pleasing if it’s showing off your wanting to do.

Just wanting draft beer? Get PD, cheaper. It’s VHS to the blades Betamax.

my brother in law has both the blade and the PD. i've got the sub. for me it totally depends on what beer you want. stella, bud are on the PD and moretti, amstel and heineken are on the Sub/Blade.

they both have a range of other beers and lagers. so when picking just have a look at the actual beers you can get and that you like and go from there. price per pint is not much difference on them.

availability of the machines will be your issue though. my bro in law was on a waiting list for 9 months on the blade and i know the PD aren't selling at the moment and you have to register to get stock updates.

I did see some secondary sellers with prices 10 - 20% higher than RRP (£625 ish) , but I spoke to BeerWulf this morning and they have a few "starter kits" (blade plus two kegs) for £425 in stock.

decisions, decisions.

Quick search on Amazon found this if that's helpful to you?

I've got both.

Aesthetically the Blade is a better looking machine and it is also easier to load the kegs. However, PD does have more choice and there is the rather attractive £5 rebate on the Aluminium kegs (Blades are blown plastic).
First world problems of where to keep all of the kegs chilled is an issue though :p

wonder where that is coming from as the price on beerhawk is 249.99
Not in stock though, you need to go on a waiting list.

Edit - Which is what you said above, apologies. Assume Amazon price is a marketplace seller with stock hence the inflated price.

Getting a perfect draft machine might be an issue at the mo, when they do come in stock they are usually snapped up really quick

but use beerhawk for kegs, 15% off if you buy 3, beer tokens (another 5% I think) then £5 back per keg brings the cost down to about £18-£25 (the dearer the keg the more powerful the alcohol) then your talking a couple of quid (or less) a pint

then treat yourself to a keg of la virgen 360, tremendous!!

It really depends what you want out of it. The Perfect Draft can’t be beaten for the selection of beers, but the Blade is a much higher spec machine that will cool a keg down to pouring temperature in half an hour and you don’t have to bother with sending empties back as they can be recycled. It also has some really good beers and the options should grow as the machine becomes more popular.

i will also have a fridge in the summer house so pre-chilling the next keg shouldn't be a big issue.

I think I just need to get off the pot and make a decision and live with it.

I can definitely second the PD, I got mine as Christmas present and love it.

The la virgen 360 mentioned above is very nice as is LISA if you are after a lager, I'm currently getting through a keg of Tennents bought purely to remind of my youth!!!

Ive got the blade and they have them in stock here:
