Ben Gibson

I like Ben - for the player he was when with us. I’m afraid he would be a very expensive player in terms of salary sought - and would offer exceptionally poor value. Not for me I’m afraid

1. He will be on a big wage won’t be value for the performances he can give.

2. The only position he would suit is the middle centre back and we already have 2 players for that position. Just because he’s left footed doesn’t mean he would suit he in that LCB role, he absolutely wouldn’t and is more of a thumper down the pitch than Fry.

3. He’s been really poor for a couple of seasons in a row.

I seem to remember that he had a decent left foot, so could play left side centre back. Would be no issue with his attitude. Still quite young for a defender. I would be happy to have him back on two year contract.

Cooper did well and was a part of us establishing ourselves in the premier league
Yep, I thought he was very good on his return and although he was 30? got a good few years out of him. Good signing.

Now Pallister on the other hand.....played a role in that first season back up I suppose, but was pretty much crocked from day 1.

We wouldn’t have won League Cup without Juninho, so very happy that he came back.
He was a far lesser player but then we knew that when we signed him. And he was world class first time around, so no shame in that.

Post injury Juninho was still a very good player.

Cooper came back & Sven (England manager at the time) was at a game Coops bossed & asked who he was.. as his performance was that good..

Cooper was a very good player and member of the squad even in his late 30s.

No thanks to Gibson. He wouldn’t be able to play Wilders system anyway.

1. I think his Uncle would be paying a sensible wage

2. We are short here - If Fry goes then hes a very good fit

3. He hasn't played that much - Back to Boro would be a good stimulus

Yep Pallister helped us out a bit with his experience in certain games but he gradually struggled more and more with injury

He did actually get a couple of England caps under Venables while he was at Forest. Both in the "Umbro cup". I believe he played in the game where Juninho came to everyone's attention
