I do like The Star Spangled Banner. The US does all that patriotism stuff rather well.

I always wanted to be an American when I was a kid. I love the place.

Agreed: similar to the French one (which IMO is the best national anthem) in that it’s bombastic and rousing. What an anthem should be

True. Being at Mutrayfield as a group of England fans, when the tannoy goes quiet and the stadium belts out the second verse a Capella is spine tingling

That was never an official verse in "our" anthem (it's the UK's not England's), that's a myth that keeps getting perpetuated.

Unofficial version of GSTK have included questionable verses, but it's never once been used officially.

I would change ours to bohemian rhapsody and insist on it being sung in full before every game.
