I think Boro should have stuck with Payero such a shame I think he would have adapted to become a brilliant player .Some players take time from South American countries u don't give up on them after just one year.

I'd have kept him too, but he pushed for a move back to Argentina and he was struggling to make an impact anyway, it's probably better for both parties if he's happy and playing in his home country rather than struggling over here.

People that know football rate this lad he’s good enough to get into his country’s Olympic squad and is now at the one of the biggest sides in South America.

We never gave him a chance.

Oh yes and he plays in a position we need as well.

Neither players were flops. The club bought both and their respective managers at the time never game them a chance or trusted them.

Quite ridiculous to expert to young foreign players who dont speak english to set the world alight in less than 15 games.

The club flopped not the players.
Both were very good technically

Both players were flops here, unless you're using a strange definition of a flop.
It doesn't mean they're bad players, it just means they flopped at this specific club.

Hazard has been a flop at Real Madrid, he's an incredible player.

Salah was a flop at Chelsea, he's an incredible player.

I just dont tend to judge players as flops when they arent given a decent opportunity especially given their circumstances.

What did u expect from them in the time they were given?

Not really interested in salah or hazard.

But specifically with De Peña, a very large portion of the squad and coaching staff were Spanish speakers, the language barrier is less of an excuse with him.

Payero only had Leo, so it was obviously a lot harder.

Btw Payero also scored as well in his 530 mins that he was allowed as well something our some of our mf and strikers couldn’t

I still don’t know why people say he flopped.

Kike Sola wasn't a flop, he just wasn't given a chance.

Lea Siliki wasn't a flop, he just wasn't given a chance.

Guedioura wasn't a flop, he just wasn't given a chance.

Kris Boyd wasn't a flop either cause he played for a proper massive club in Rangers.

Riley McGree must be unreal cause a proper huge club in Celtic wanted him.

The logic on here from @Jedi boro is absolutely baffling. Club size means nothing, not a thing. Boca Juniors are huge but they are crap, it has no relevance to Payero's time here. If he went on to play for an actual good side and do well there then he might have a point but just because he went to a "big club" in South America does not mean that he is good.

It seems very much like the Djed Spence situation.. loaning out a wingback because we don’t play with wingbacks..

Martin Payero was never going to get in the team ahead of Marcus Tavernier..

Awwwwwww
