Blackpool 1-2 Middlesbroug | MATCH VLOG

Blackpool fan here in peace. You guys are going to enjoy this a lot more than I was at 4am this morning when I finished editing it.

I managed to get both of your goals from behind our goal, the limbs, the thousand coming in, the Boro fans coming out happy at the end. Geez it really was painful to watch it unfold last night and not much better putting it all together but enjoy it. Probably wasn't your best performance but winning games when you are not at your best is a great sign with a bit of strengthening in January and playing football in the proper way who knows? it may just be a fantastic season for Middlesbrough best of luck for the season.

As a Blackpool fan it felt very cruel and if we just launched it into the corner rather than a stupid sideways pass it would have been a draw but I'm sure you guys will know what we went through. I try my best to capture the drama of football as I film so I'm pretty happy with how this came out even if I am gutted this morning

As I say enjoy it I am sure you will

Blackpool 1-2 Middlesbrough - Late, Late Painful Drama

Cracking video, thanks for sharing it with us! Hope Blackpool go on to have a good second half of the season. Made us work very hard for that result!

Stats looked fairly even last night - so a draw would have been a fair result - we have played better earlier in the season and lost games say at home to QPR and Preston and away at Hull. We missed our captain and best midfielder in Howson and it left us a bit more open.

Blackpool have surprised a few people this season.
I would have taken the draw tbh but hey you can't switch off or you get punished so fair play to you as painful as it was

Watched it earlier on your forum, I like all the extras you catch, before and after the match + the away fans celebrations. I watched your PNE match day video at the time and was impressed then, keep up the good work👍
Thanks exeterboro it was a bit hard to film your celebrations if I am being honest and I couldn't think of filming anything more painful for me than walking through you guys celebrating along Bloomfield Road as we came out late, it's a great scene but really it just echoed my pain and the cheery Christmas song just stuck the knife into me that little bit more at 4am it was so painful but it helped ease my mind in a cathartic way😂

Cracking video, thanks for this hope the rest of season goes well for you.
Thanks and same too you, you have an outside chance, strengthen in January and who knows? you play football the right way, no bloody time wasting or should I say 'game management' which I absolutely hate like Peterborough for instance rolling over dead about every 5 minutes bringing the physio on then a club doctor to check out some fake injury it was awful truly awful

The lady in the mustard coloured bobble hat may need to up her game assessment skills a tad.

In reply to what did she think of that her answer "I thought our passing was a bit sh1t" perhaps didn't quite convey the deep disappointment you Blackpool fans must have been feeling. :)
In Jane's defence she has to watch the game with me and I can be the harbinger of doom at times...me saying things like 'we need to keep this tight Jane and not let them get a winner, you know it happens, we can be a nightmare blah blah blah" just before you score and only a few days before at Huddersfield 'oh god Gabriel is off we have had it now' 'we will never keep em out we are awful with 10 men' if they get an equaliser we are going to lose this" 'told ya' can be quite hard to sit with 😂🤣

I've put a response on your post on your messagboard. Great vlog. Well put together with a lot of effort. Probably the best on I've seen. I personally couldng be bothered doing a vlog as i just want to watch and enjoy the game but they're well worth a watch to get the different perspectives. Cheers
You are very wise Mfc I wish I just reviewed cameras or mobile phones or something? football vlogging is much harder than I ever imagined. you have very little time to edit it and get it up as the moment is gone within a day or 2, the stress of wanting wins to grow your channel, the expense as we are committed to every game this season plus the Football Tourist's Guide (we did Middlesbrough but we went to Whitby as it was Jane's Birthday) I definitely wouldn't recommend it if you ever fancy doing it but you do get to meet and make friends with other football clubs which we really love to do

Ref definitely wasn't a homer, it could easily have gone the other way on the night
Yeah we don't get Homer refs I can't remember the last time a ref gave us anything of note that was shall we say rather fortunate. I used to think maybe the showers are cold in the refs room or something?

great video and what a good game Blackpool impressed me definitely one of the better sides we have played this. I am sure they will be ok this season. A proper northern football club as well. good luck for the remainder
I was sure a few weeks ago we were playing well and picking up points but now we are playing well and losing and that can soon turn into not playing well and losing and we have seen that kind of thing happen before

Great video, thanks for sharing.

It was a pretty even game and it could have gone either way. Ref was very fair and didn't give freekicks for falling to the floor like most do in this division.
We hated the ref. I always say whenever we think a ref is okay the other fans will think he is a bleeding nightmare and I can't remember the last time I came out of a game thinking you know what that ref was very fair? is that actually a thing? 😂🤣

Fantastic video. Well put together and I really feel for you editing into the early hours ... a labour of love. And love, as we all know, hurts sometimes. Thank you for doing it. Easily, the best fan produced match day video I have ever seen. And commiserations on the late disappointment. Boro fans know all about that feeling.
Aw man I can't actually believe what I'm doing sometimes, it is a pure labour of love but sometimes it really tests that love as you can imagine

Thanks Lee.
Great to see how you supported the homeless at Christmas and how much the club is back to being connected to the community and the fans.
It couldnt have been easy with that dysfunctional reprobate and his son, when they were "in charge" of your club.
All the best for the rest of the season.
Im sure you`l be welcome for a pint and a parmo next time you come to The Riverside.

yep, the grief refs get for any decision against boro at the riverside proves a lot of fans watch the game with red/blue/white/tangerine coloured glasses.

having said that the last couple of refs we have had have allowed physical contact in games and have let the game flow. I do wonder if footballers ever go out to pubs and have to go to the bar for a drink, would be carnage with players on the floor all over the place.

Yes we are pretty much happy just to be watching football again and the fact that defeats like that actually mean something to me and hurt as painfully as as it did is actually quite amazing because it wasn't long ago where football was lost to me. I had withdrawn my support and didn't go for 5 years in our protest at the Oyston suing our fans. It was horrific, attending protests and not going in, fans raising funds to help fellow fans that were settling out of court for things said on message boards and missing 5 years of football with my 2 boys who were 8 and 13. I missed those years with them when they were young and can never get those back sadly, they go with their mates now the youngest is 17. I will look forward to a pint and a parmo the next time we visit we stayed in Whitby as it was Jane's birthday last time but we will definitely be staying in Middlesbrough for our next Tourist Guide video should be a good one

That's what I liked about Boro one of the few clubs that we have played so far that passed it around, and weren't rolling around all over the floor at the slightest contact and that made it an open entertaining game.
