Blackpool v Leeds

Friendly played tonight. Leeds won 4-0. Was played at York’s stadium, where we are playing tomorrow night. Anyone know the reason why?

I was wondering this also, although flash scores had it down as played at Lincoln? Same stadium name potentially?

It's the Lytham Festival at the moment, and travel around Blackpool is a bit of a nightmare, so perhaps they didn't want to throw a load of Leeds fans into the mix? Don't know why York was chosen though.

Ah, got it thanks. I imagine the local constabulary are loathed to throw a load of Leeds into the mix in normal times.

That said, our fixture is on a Saturday this year so perhaps their stance in softening?

You're right, given the teams locations a stadium to the west of Leeds would surely have been preferable. Probably throwing a few scraps to the huge numbers of Leeds who live in York.

Loads of Leeds fans in York. It would have been a mini home game for them. Not as bad as Harrogate, mind.
