Body Shop administration

Wow!

I got a daft job doing French language IT support for the Body Shop's international point of sale system based at Littlehampton when I first returned homeless to the UK.

They had recently been acquired by L'Oréal, who promised to continue the ethics of the late founder Anita Roddick. So much for that.

The people I worked with were not very nice, anyroad.

Didn't move with the times and the teen market stopped going there. They now go to Lush and Sephora instead.

BS were bought by L'Oreal in 2006 and then sold on to a Brazilian company in 2017 who didn't invest in the high street, It was only a matter of time sadly.

Asset Stripping ? too many shops with high rents and probably long leases to go

Keep the website, open a warehouse, reduce all the retail overheads - jobs a good un for new owners?

It will devastate Littlehampton.

I have to say it is not a surprise. A tired brand that didn't reinvent itself like Sephora did in Europe and have now brought their model to the UK and winning business. Holding in shop events so teen groups go and buy

In other business news Yodel the delivery company were rescued from collapse this morning by the guys behind the company Shift.
