Bologna Hotels

Wife and I are going there at the end of March and wondered if anyone has a hotel recommendation.

Saw the Rick Stein programme there and he stayed in a nice hotel in the centre but it's not available on iplayer unfortunately so any advice would be most welcome.

Love Bologna. We stayed here, last time I was there.

Mercure Bologna Centro

Strategic location, opposite to the train station. 3 km away from the exhibition center and the entrance to the old town.

the guy on the desk recommended a backstreet restaurant (cant remember the name, but it was a down-the-steps basement place). The best Bolognese I ever tasted, and the house wine, in an earthenware jug was about €1 for a litre, and delicious.

I had a half day at the Maserati factory, which was amazing
