Like all boro fans I was awake into the small hours, plotting and planning our attack on the championship next season.
Maybe it was because Man City also played tonight, but I’ve stumbled across the blue print!
And this one is golden! From here on in, I have renamed it - The Gold Print!!
In a nutshell, we have the players to emulate Pep’s poster boys!!
Dijksteel (Kyle Walker esq pace to cover)
Fry (the Ruben Dias ‘last man’ job)
Lenihan (moving into midfield when we’re on the ball - John Stones)
Bola (the left side is mine - Ake / Laporte / Akanji).
Howson/Barlaser (the puppet master - Rodri)
McGree (right wing, cuts in for a goal, byline for the assist - Rihad Mahrez / Bernardo Silva)
Hackney (popping up all over the place - Gundogan)
Akpom (the main man, goals and assists - KDB, admittedly Alvarez would be more similar comparison)
Jones - (left wing, high and wide, the threat of pace and trickery enough to scare the defender, gets the ball carries it into dangerous position, finds a team mate in a better position with a simple pass! Less is more!)
Forss / Coburn (movement and clever runs, playing between the width of the posts, only job is to score goals - like that man Haaland)
Without even making a signing!! It’s all there!
