Not been on the board all weekend so not sure if this has already been posted.

According to Sky Sports News we have had a bid accepted for 18 year old defender Rav Van Den Berg.

He's a Holland u20 international. We've agreed a deal with his current club and he's due in for a medical next week.

Sky sports describing it as a coup due to some of the clubs he's been linked with.

Can honestly say I've never heard of him (have heard of his brother) but there seemed to be a bit of hype around him earlier in the window

I absolutely love this deal. Out of Absolutely nowhere among the panic of our fan base because we hadn't done anything, a wonderkid and beaten plenty of big clubs. It's the kind of signing that excites you because you have absolutely no idea what to expect, if it turns out well you could be swimming in money in a few years and have a hell of a player on your hands.

Well done to the club for keeping this so quiet. It's a breathe of fresh air this new regime, January was exceptional, last summer was good and we start this summer off by keeping a deal within the confides of Rockliffe. Long gone are the 'hes off to Villa years'

This guy and our other signings so far look like they’re for the development squad, don’t think we’ve signed anyone for the first team / subs bench as yet.

It sounds like we’re pinning a lot on the loan market again, we’ve had a lot more duds than stars over the last 15 years,

The only way we have got this lad ahead of Liverpool, Bayern etc. is because he wants to play and not be farmed out on loan without any real say. With Woody 1-to-1 coaching and Carrickball style which suits him.

So this signals the sale of McNair or Fry for me.

The loudest rumours have been surrounding McNair going. Might have something to do with Matt Clarke’s injury?

This lad will be for our first team squad.

This is it surely? That's our USP and how we beat bigger clubs to signings.

He's just had a season of first team football and ok, it was Dutch second tier, but his club got promoted. He's not coming here to play for the under 23s when he could be playing in the Dutch top flight.
