That's brilliant. Can you imagine how proud and excited Mr Kelly must of been to receive this letter then keep it in such good condition for the next 69 years(or until the end of his days). That's a fantastic bit of social history and a real nice feel good element to it especially considering it was only 7 years after the war had finished and and how society must have still been recovering and wondering what the future held considering in the precious 35 years there had been 2 world wars which had seen 2 generations had lived through the biggest conflicts in history. Sorry for my long reply I'm a bit of a history geek and I like to also try to understand and think about the psychological perspective and think of certain elements of history from the point of view of the person(s) of that time. Although I am concerned Boro used to play in Red shirts with white KNICKERS, I'm glad we have changed kit designs since then
